# Cookie Policy

**Effective date: January 1, 2026 Last updated: April 5, 2026**

## 1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how CohenHallowell uses cookies and similar technologies on the BrainPulse™ platform and websites, what they do, and the choices you have. It forms part of, and should be read with, our Privacy Policy. Where Applicable Law requires consent for non-essential cookies, we ask for your consent through a cookie banner or preference tool before placing them.

## 2. What cookies and similar technologies are

**2.1 Cookies.** Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site recognise your device, remember your actions and preferences, and operate efficiently. Cookies may be “session” cookies, which expire when you close your browser, or “persistent” cookies, which remain until they expire or you delete them.

**2.2 First-party and third-party.** First-party cookies are set by us; third-party cookies are set by service providers acting on our behalf.

**2.3 Similar technologies.** We also use technologies such as local storage, software development kits in our apps, pixels, and device identifiers, which function similarly to cookies. References to “cookies” in this Policy include these technologies.

## 3. Why we use them

We use cookies to operate and secure the Service, to remember your settings and accessibility preferences, to keep you signed in, to understand how the Service is used so we can improve it, and to support certain features. Because the Service is built around accessibility and personalisation, some cookies help us remember your display, audio, and profile preferences between sessions.

## 4. Categories of cookies we use

**4.1 Strictly necessary cookies.** These are essential for the Service to function, for example to authenticate you, keep your session secure, route requests, and remember items needed during a task. The Service cannot work properly without them, so they do not require consent.

**4.2 Functional and preference cookies.** These remember choices you make, such as language, display settings, audio speed, and accessibility and profile preferences, to give you a more personalised experience.

**4.3 Performance and analytics cookies.** These help us understand how the Service is used (for example, which features are used and where errors occur) so we can measure and improve performance. Where required, we use these only with your consent and seek to use aggregated or de-identified data.

**4.4 Targeting and advertising cookies.** The Service is designed to operate without advertising cookies, and we do not use cookies to deliver cross-context behavioural advertising to children or students. If we ever use any targeting cookies for general marketing, we will do so only with consent where required and will update this Policy and our preference tool accordingly.

## 5. Cookies in use on BrainPulse™

The table below describes the types of cookies we use and their purpose. Specific cookie names, providers, and durations are maintained in our cookie preference tool, which is kept current; the entries below are illustrative and should be completed with the live inventory before launch.

Third-party and analytics cookies

Some cookies are set by service providers who help us operate and analyse the Service, such as our analytics and security providers. These providers process information under our instructions and their own privacy terms. We do not permit these providers to use the information for their own independent advertising purposes.

## 7. Your consent and choices

**7.1 Consent banner.** Where required by Applicable Law, when you first use the Service we present a cookie banner allowing you to accept, reject, or manage non-essential cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are always active.

**7.2 Changing your choices.** You can change your cookie preferences at any time through our cookie preference tool, available from the cookie banner or a link in the footer of the Service.

**7.3 Effect of rejecting.** If you reject functional or analytics cookies, some features and personalisation may not work as intended, but core learning functions that rely on strictly necessary cookies will remain available.

## 8. Managing cookies in your browser and device

**8.1 Browser controls.** Most browsers let you view, manage, block, and delete cookies through their settings. Blocking all cookies, including strictly necessary ones, may prevent the Service from working.

**8.2 Mobile and device identifiers.** On mobile devices, you can usually manage advertising and device identifiers and local storage through your device settings.

**8.3 Help.** For instructions specific to your browser or device, consult its help resources.

## 9. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

There is no common industry standard for responding to browser “Do Not Track” signals, so we do not currently alter our practices in response to them. Where Applicable Law requires, we honour recognised opt-out preference signals, such as the Global Privacy Control, for the purposes the law specifies.

## 10. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or in Applicable Law. We will post the updated Policy with a revised “last updated” date and, where required, ask for renewed consent.

## 11. How to contact us

Questions about this Cookie Policy may be sent to legal@cohenhallowell.com. For broader privacy questions, contact our Privacy Officer using the details in the Privacy Policy.
